Konstantine "Kosta" Demiris
Partner/Senior Counsel
Kosta has a wealth of experience in all aspects of litigation. He has tried hundreds of cases through trial, which include cases involving trust, estate, probate, conservatorship, guardianship, elder abuse and fraud, real property and HOAs, family law, dependency, criminal law, and unlawful detainer matters. He has successfully settled cases where he was able to get multi-million dollar settlements for his clients. He has prevailed at trial, won various discovery motions, and obtained sanctions and attorney fee awards against opponents.
Kosta has consistently been recognized in California Super Lawyers as a Rising Star over the past five years in a row, a distinction given to less than 2.5% of the attorneys in the state.
Elizabeth E. Trutner
Partner/Senior Counsel
The focus of Elizabeth (Beth) Trutner's law practice has been and continues to be trusts and estates. She joined Varni, Fraser, Hartwell & Rodgers in 1991, which firm evolved to be Fraser, Harwell & Trutner in 1995, and Trutner Law Offices in 2011 when she and her father became law partners.
Beth has been certified as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the California State Board of Legal Specialization since 1995.
Chris Moore
Senior Counsel
Chris has practiced exclusively in probate matters for the entirety of his legal career, with a focus on contested conservatorship, trust and estates, and financial elder abuse litigation. Chris has independently handled dozens of probate litigation cases from start to finish, navigating complex issues such as capacity, property rights, and breach of fiduciary duty. Chris enjoys finding creative solutions to disputes to benefit his clients. Chris has trial and mediation experience, and has successfully resolved a broad variety of cases.
Chris is especially passionate about conservatorships, and has represented persons on all sides of the conservatorship process, including both lay and professional conservators, concerned family members, and proposed conservatees via court appointment, and understands the unique issues and challenges in these cases from every perspective.
Constance Figuers
Senior Litigation Counsel
Constance “Tippy” Figuers joined the Demiris Law Firm in 2017 and has handled a variety of assignments including probate administration, conservatorships, and trust matters. She has previous experience in family law and juvenile dependency and often deals with crossover family/probate issues. She has in the past worked with the Moderate Means panel of the local bar association in order to give back to the community and assist low income litigants obtain legal representation.
Michael Alexander Schreiber
Partner/Senior Counsel
Michael is an experienced litigator who joined Demiris Law Firm after litigating hundreds of cases as an attorney with two boutique law firms in San Francisco. Michael has practiced throughout California in state and federal courts, and he has handled cases in a diverse set of practice areas from start to finish. Michael’s practice areas have included catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, business litigation, real estate, civil rights, landlord/tenant, and elder abuse. He has experience and familiarity with all phases of litigation including pre-trial investigation, discovery, expert discovery, summary judgment, ADR, trial, and post-trial law and motion.
Juliana Zolynas
Senior Counsel
Since 2017, Juliana has worked primarily in the areas of estate planning and trust administrations and enjoys helping her clients establish living trust-based estate plans. Before focusing her practice on these areas, she served the State of Colorado as an Assistant Attorney General in its litigation section and worked in-house for state and federal judges in Colorado, Arizona, and California.
Kim Cameron-Smith
Counsel
Kim Cameron-Smith handles a variety of assignments at Demiris, including estate planning, trust administration, probate administration, and pretrial litigation matters. She has previous experience in criminal law, and she served for eight years as a staff attorney for a large homeschooling non-profit organization. Kim was a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Francisco and Oakland. Prior to law school, she was a probate paralegal at a large law firm in Boston.
